What I love most about the craft beer community is the support for one another! I've seen breweries lend grain and hops to others in need. I've never seen a brewer not answer questions of a local home-brewer. And breweries are always fundraising for charities in their communities. In keeping with the craft beer community spirit I have decided to open up an online store that meshes support for the local community, education, and the promotion of home-brewing.
So far, I have partnered with two local craft beer businesses to offer products through my store.
My local home-brew supply shop, VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply has graciously worked with me to offer 1-gallon, all grain, home-brewing kits. Most people may thumb their nose at brewing a gallon of beer as it takes just as long to brew one gallon as it does to brew 5 gallons. But not everyone has the space for the equipment to brew 5 gallons (i.e. small apartment dwellers). I used to be a small apartment dweller and didn't always have a large enough stove to handle a 5 gallon batch or the free space for a 5+ gallon fermenter. So, I turned to one gallon, all-grain batches because the fermenter could fit anywhere and any size stove could handle the brew day. So, I've put together 12 recipes that cover the craft beer spectrum from IPA's to Stouts to Saisons. Not only are there 1-gallon recipes I've also put together fermentation kits and bottling kits to accommodate the recipes! So, if you are looking to move from extract to all-grain or jump right in to all-grain but want to keep it small then check out the store!
Another local FL Gulf Coast company I've teamed up with is Palm City Tap Handles to bring you The Craft Beer Social logo tap handles, coasters, and bottle openers! The products are made of quality yet light-weight wood with a polyurethane covered logo decal. The bottle opener is magnetic so it can easily attach to any metal surface and it catches the bottle caps before they hit the ground! The tap handles have a chalkboard section so you can write in the beer that's on tap and the coasters come in a set of four. I'm very happy with how these turned out! If you'd like to have The Craft Beer Social beer gear then head on over to the store!
I'm in the process of evaluating and reviewing other locally made craft beer products as well as creating hand-crafted homebrew gear to feature in the store so expect the offerings to grow!
