One of my biggest goals for the last year has been networking and growing the social media footprint of The Craft Beer Social. Some areas have been growing faster than others, especially Instagram. Over the course of the last year The Craft Beer Social Instagram page has grown by over 2,000 followers, more than a 300% increase! I’ve made some great connections in the craft beer industry through Instagram, but my favorite so far has been with Tampa Bay Food Tours. Tampa Bay Food Tours was started by Kimberly McAvoy and Mari White who have lived most of their lives in the Tampa Bay Area. They grew an appreciation for the local cuisines and wanted to share their passion for locally made food with the world! So, they started Tampa Bay Food Tours to offer 3-hour long walking tours that feature 5-7 stops for unique foods in Tampa, Dunedin, and St. Petersburg (each location is its own tour).
It was soon realized that there was another industry to “tap” into that has exploded in recent years in the Tampa Bay Area…Craft Beer! The Tampa Bay Area is home to over 50 breweries. Most breweries have a drive in between them but there are two areas where there are a few within walking distance of each other, Dunedin and St. Petersburg. Dunedin is home to SEVEN craft breweries all within a 10-minute walk! Between Edge and Grand Central Districts in St. Pete there are four within walking distance. So, they decided to create walking craft beer and bites tours in these areas. Tampa Bay Food Tours was a company I had begun to follow on Instagram towards the end of last year. They checked out my website and social media and saw that I have a passion for the craft beer industry and so reached out to me. I was surprised, excited, and a little nervous when they asked me to join them to lead their St. Pete Craft Beer and Bites Tour! After a few meetings, I enthusiastically accepted and last night I got to head out on my first tour! The St. Pete Craft Beer and Bites Tour is a 3-hour walking tour that hits four breweries and enjoys food from two restaurants. The tour begins at 5:45pm and includes stops at:
The Dunedin Craft Beer and Bites tour is on Saturdays starting at 1:00pm. Though I will not typically be leading the Dunedin tour, I may fill in on occasion. You can book your tickets HERE and use code BOOKWITHNICK to help me track my sales! I am looking forward to a great partnership with Kimberly and Mari and hope that you will join us too! |
