Bottled: Imperial Coffee IPA (a.k.a. C4 IIPA) - Batch #1
ABV ~9.3% IBU ~76 O.G. 1.090 F.G. 1.020 Ingredients: (5 gallons) 7lbs 4.0oz Maris Otter Pale Malt 6lb 9.6oz Pale Liquid Extract 2.00 oz Cascade (First Wort Addition) 2.00 oz Centennial (60 min) 1.00 oz Citra (15 min) 1.00 oz Citra (10 min) 1.50 oz Coarse Ground Coffee (Flameout until transfer to fermenter (~15min)) 3 pkgs Wyeast Labs #1056 American Ale "Spack Packs" 4 oz Citra (dry hop) 2.50 oz Coarse Ground Coffee (dry hop, 5 days) Popped open a bottle after 6 days and its got a really smooth coffee/citrus aroma. Has a bitterness that lingers for a while. Still needs about another 4-7 days to bottle condition to reach perfect carbonation level! Happy overall! As I sit here, drinking the first bottle of my most recent homebrew and reminiscing on the past couple of years, its hard to believe some of the major changes that have occurred in my life. I moved 1,000 miles from home, had a major career change, found the most wonderful girlfriend, and I finally got rid of my first car! But my love for craft beer has not changed, in fact it has grown. I now work part-time at a microbrewery in SWFL, I homebrew any chance I get, and I'm always trying new craft beers.
