July 1st, 2015. That's the day that two major craft beer events occurred:
Florida allowed the sale of 64 ounce growlers
Palm City Tap Handles was born
Palm City Tap Handles began when Greg Anderson decided to go to his garage and build a 64 ounce growler tote out of wood just for fun. It wasn't until he showed his handmade tote to Ryan Bowen (founder of soon-to-open Palm City Brewing Co.) that the leap to an actual business was developed. Ryan loved the tote so much that he asked Greg if he could make tap handles as well... of course he could! At that time he figured he would only be making tap handles for Palm City Brewing Co and since Ryan was so instrumental in the start of the business he decided to call his newly formed business Palm City Tap Handles. However, he did not expect there to be such a market for his quality but inexpensive tap handles in the local market and at one point considered changing the name to differentiate himself from the brewery but decided that being associated with Ryan and the much anticipated Palm City Brewing Co would not be a bad thing!
